poping

I record with a tascam 424mk III and mix it on my hard drive to a wave file. last winter i recorded a tune that ended up with a lot of poping that came from the master tape. I think this was from low humidity and, or bad tape. I have not had this problem since, but I really liked the recording. can any one sugest a computer program i can use to get rid of the poping. ---thanks.

Poping? That is done at the Vatican.

However, "popping" in a wave file can be de-popped if you have the software.

[I'm not 100% sure but a friend took some songs from one of my CDs and turned them into wave files and got rid of tape hiss]

Thus, I'm assuming it can be done.
