except For No One makes me want to cry, and this song makes me want to shuffle through my refrigerator.
Ha, that's funny. Not sure what you mean, exactly, but eating is better than crying, isn't it? Thanks for listening.

I hate to admit this but I didn't even listen to the song. I was only listening to the production.
Oh yeah, the song....I know just what you mean, you write a song in 2 seconds, and then it's years of snares and compression settings and computer crashes and whatever else, and then you finally start getting to the end, and it's like, oh yeah, I remember this song....

How were the drums recorded? Nice, clean sound for a (presumably) untreated bedroom.
Very simply really...an AT4033 overhead, an SM57 on snare, an AKGD112 in the kick. That's it...the room is pretty dead...I keep thinking I should do something about it, I read how the room is the most important thing, room modes and standing waves and all that, but I don't really get any of that...
I just listened to Penelope O' Doule. Sounds great...definitely got that 60's thing, just the name Penelope O'Doule sounds very mod, 60's, Austin Powers...I'm downloading the others....

it may be that, like here, new posters unfamiliar to the regulars tend to get ignored when new posts are coming in quickly.
That's what I figured...that's why I was surprised at the quick response here...pretty cool.

Also, the vocals seem a little harsh in the upper mids, could be the mp3 conversion though.
Hmmm, could be...I think I may have overloaded the mic a bit on a couple of the louder notes...Thanks very much.

This thread is one of the most interesting things I've come across.
I'm pretty surprised...I really appreciate your enthusiasm...I just thought it was a simple little song...I have to read madmush's post again, he doesn't like the chorus at all....

Very few people posess his level of talent and ability. And yet he says, "I'm just an idiot with a little bedroom studio."
Thanks a lot Don...but I swear, I'm pretty much an idiot.
Alright, thanks everyone who listened and replied, I really appreciate very much the feedback and compliments and tips (I'm pretty sure I over compressed).
