Pop Punk/Hardcore recording advice and thoughts

I just started recording within the week, and this is the first recording I've ever done! I'm still waiting on Superior Drummer to arrive so I'm using these shitty samples where the cymbals are obnoxiously loud but aside from that, is there any advice anyone could give me to make this better?

Eq tips, compression, mixing, etc. Literally any advice possible would be heavily appreciated because what I learn now will probably have an impact on what I record in the future.

I recorded everything direct in with a Pod Studio Ux2, using a setting I made in Pod farm for the guitars, and just recorded the bass direct in, doubled the track and added different compression/distortions/eqs to each.

Also, since when I do get Superior Drummer I'll have more freedom with the mixing of my drums, any advice on where to put each drum in the mix? Purely for future reference.

yeah the crashes are obnoxious, but I can get past them. Otherwise, fairly good. I'd like to hear the bass come out a bit more. Probably on the top end, like in the 1Khz range to add definition.

Also wouldn't mind hearing the mix spread more across the stereo field.

But seriously, where's the vocals??

Not terrible for a first mix, but not good either. It's messy and muddy - even with the bass gtr almost totally absent. If you can't hear how dark and dull this mix is, then your monitoring situation is lying to you. I'm hearing a ton of mess in the low mids slushing everything up. Also, in the future post a better clip than a 128 kbps MP3. If you want an honest critique, you gotta give us something worth listening to. 320 kbps files aren't that big and free hosts are everywhere.

Loved the energy.

Guitars are just a wee bit cloudy. Like there's a buildup in the 450hz - 600hz range. It could be due to the MP3 conversion, but it seems they're missing a little of the higher range of a high gain guitar - like the 4K - 7K area.

In some sections it seems like the tempo is just a little quick. Not horrible, but in places is can sound a bit too rushed. i know it's punkish-metalish, but still.
