Pop Filters on microphones

chills

ok i was looking into purchasing some for my vocal mic.. but before that i want to test out how a recording would sound with a pop filter.. someone suggested using pantyhose over your microphone just wondering if anyone knows if this method works well

You don't actually put the panyhose on the microphone. You stretch them over a loop, either a coat hanger or one of those needle point hoops. Then you place the hoop an inch or two in front of the mic. That will be much more effective.

It Works

I used the foot portion of an old pair of pantyhose stretched over the lid of a Mason jar. Works pretty good.
