Pocket Studio 5 and Midi Keyboards Help

Hey gang quick question. How do you hook up a midi keyboard controller to the Tascam Pocket Studio 5 and get it to change to all the different sounds stored. The Recorder has a Internal General MIDI Synth Module, and a MIDI input on the back. When I connect a Midi Controller keyboard it only plays a standard paino.

Any clues?
