Can anyone help me undo a stupid but devestating mistake.

I was working on a song in Guitar Tracks Pro. After working for a while, I decided to close the .wrk file and work on another song.

After working on the other song for a but, I decided to save it. I hit save and the dialog box came up to name the new .wrk file. Well, a mouse slip later and I had inadvertently given the new .wrk file the name of the first song I was working on. In others words, the first .wrk file was replaced with the second one.

I have checked and all my wav files from the first remain in the directory.

Is there anyway to undo this mistake?

I need some good news....please.

It's likely that the wav files are still sitting in a folder....though I'm not sure.

If the wav files are still in your directory you could try importing them back into GT Pro.

I just checked.

You may at least be able to at least get the tracks back by importing the wavs from c:/cakewalk projects/audio data
back into GT Pro one track at a time.

Just play the files and listen for the tracks.

This is of course provided that the wav files remain after the wrk file is replaced/deleted.

Also, if your PC has a restore function, that may work...but that would kill the new project that you replaced the old one with, so back that up first. lol

You should be able to reassemble your original project like Jammer said by importing the individual wav files.

Just don't run Clean Audio Disk in the meantime!
