havent ran a scan disk or defrag yet, gonna do it this weekend...ill update you guys,,

wierd thing....i decide to test it out before i run the scan disk and it suddenly works. i had chnaged the temp directory i dont no if that had anything to do with it...only problem is the song i was working on doesnt work...all my other mixdowns work fine, i guess its back...thanks for everyone who helped and responded to my problem i greatly appreciate it.

Yeah, the tune you were working (that session) is gone. But it was gone before you deleted your temp directory. When I say "gone," I mean, it was unusable from the moment you got the surge, so you deleted it manually, and now CEP isn't trying to open a corrupted session anymore. Either that, or the gremlins that were sitting inside your computer left.

I don't have many crashes with CEP, but my experience is that about 4 out of 5 crashes come back with no problem. Maybe more. The ones that DON'T come back are usually the ones like you described, where power gets cut off when CEP is autosaving some stuff in the background.

its unfortunate but i guess ill have to start over the session again....ive gotten a new APC surge protector so this wont happen again in the future...
