Many years ago I purchased a Tascam Porta 03 and, have read the user's manual, "played around" with the unit some and can make a basic recording... that's about the extent of my knowledge on multitrac recording. I want to do two things at this point... One - gain knowledge and experience on multitrac recording.. and Two - buy a better multitrac recorder. I would like to get a unit that is easy to use and very portable ... something that can be easily set up at a gig or jam session . ( I am a musician so my time will be limited in operating the new multitrac recorder...) I am considering the Yamaha MD8. Can anyone give me some insight on learning multitrac recording and would the MD8 be a logical move up for me ??
) Having my "studio" all in one suitcase is an idea i had when i first started thinking of upgrading to an 8 track... I will take a look at the specs on the Korg D16 when i get a chance... the price sounds good..thats about what the Yamaha would cost me ( for 8 tracs ) Would it be "
