When your guitarist said your bass track needs more mids, you should have told him "ok, then add some mids". I agree that it sounds like your in a no win situation with an engineer who doesn't know what's going on. Good luck.

That track in question, that needed more mids right, I get told on Friday at our gig "oh btw, we don't have to redo that song, it came out fine..". To which I pretty much responded with a blank face and an "I see..".

Well, I managed to retrack the last 7 songs yesterday and all is done and over. I just plugged in clean with my backup and did as much as I could do in one take, and just did a couple of punch-ins later.

How'd I get into this business anyways.. *rolls.eyes*
