Please help with this mix (Death/Doom Metal)

I am very new to home recording and new to this board. A friend told me
I could get some help here. You can not hurt my feelings so please let
me know what I can do to make it better. Thanks in advance!!!

btw, it is death metal with a little doom and black metal thrown in.

The mix overall seems Ok and I can hear everything... pretty good

I don't know this song, but the guitars are really, really scooped and nasally. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be.

The drums sound triggered.

The compressor on the guitars/drums is evident when the vocals come in.

Drums really do sound triggered or sequenced, it's cool though, fits the sound. Guitars do sound like they need more balls however most guitars I hear on songs like these sounds like this so it may fit. The vocals are a tad upfront, maybe bury them just a little bit more. All in all not bad.
 
thanks for the input. I have been told by more than one person the guitars
need more mid. I guess, I got used to how they sound and just went with
it. Thanks again...I need all the help I can get!!!

How can you tell? At times it seems as if one instrument will push another
back. Does that make sense? It is the compressor that does that?
