Hi all,
I am to build home studio in new flat, and need your advice. Please attachment for my sketch. Walls are structural (textured) plaster for more diffusion, walls and ceiling are Vicoustic panels MD55 represented as squares on walls- on sides and up's of speakers on mixing place and ceiling above recording place, as well some walls. There are two carpets under. I will also put something like vicoustic FLEXI WALL somewhere in recording space, to even more separation and diffusion.
What do you think on this budget solution? any suggestions will be appreciated

Jerry

Jerry,

Your best bang for the buck would be DIY rock wool or rigid fiberglass panels - At least 4" thick. You'll need trapping the corners too. A rectangular room has 12 corners. ;)
The foam is not going to do that much for you.

Cheers,
John

Thanks for advice.

Now I am thinking about rockwool in DIY wooden panels, about 120cm * 200cm. Would be times cheaper and I hope better.
I have already made my order to Vicoustic, but resigned, following your suggestions.
I'll buy some better gear for my savings!

Thanks, mate!
