How to systematically copy and paste choruses in n-track. Whats the easiest way in doing it.

Ok lets say I DL a beat/instumental from a cd or this this beat website,.

1. I DL or record instrumental from website or cd.
2. Open N-Track and import the instumental .wav file in a new session.
3. I see wav file in the timeline.
My question is when doing the choruses, how do I copy and paste it in beat with N-track grid/bars.

The way I would usually copy and paste choruses, is I had to paste it and move each chorus manually in beat with the instrumental.

I want to know the easier way in doing this, like most guys with pro-tools.

Didn't read the Help file???

--------------------------------------

Looping Wave Files:

To loop a wave file in n-Track Studio do the following:
- Insert the wave file to loop using the Track/Insert wave file menu command
- make sure you’re in the "non-destructive editing mode" (click on the on editing mode button on the toolbar)
- press CTRL-C (or select Edit/Copy)
- press CTRL-V (or select Edit/Paste) holding down the SHIFT key:
this will make the program insert another time the same wave file. If SHIFT is pressed and held, the program automatically puts the new reference to the wave file in the same track as the copied part with the offset equal to the former end of the track, so that there will be no gap in the playback

- continue pressing SHIFT-CTRL-C until the wave file is repeated as many times as you wish

In this way it is also possible to create more complex loops. For example if you want to create a drum track and you have two wave files, one for the normal bar and one for a break, you could paste the normal bar 3 times, the break bar 1 time, and then copy and paste the whole sequence.

I think Tim's a little confused about what you're asking. (Every time somebody mentions beats, people assume it has something to do with looping.)

What you need to do:

1. In n-Track, press Ctrl-G to enable Snap To Grid. (Alternately, you can find it under Edit > Grid.)

2. You need to determine the tempo of the song... Unlike ProTools, n-Track unfortunately does not have a "Beat Detector" utility. There are several free standalone utilities that do this though - here's a free one:

http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/MixMeisterBPM/

3. Now that you know the tempo, head back to n-Track. Enter the BPM in the little box right next to the time slider.

4. If your song starts with a little bit of silence, the audio might not line up exactly with the grid. No biggie - just adjust the track offset so the bars and beats match up.
