Please help me set up protools 8 !

Problem is I'm not sure I can. Last time I did a registration like that PT7 was new.
Did I already link you to the avid guide with the picture of the yellow reg card etc? Do you have a reg card?

The long code that starts with DIGI is your PT auth code.
The registration details are different codes.
 
might have found the right code to put in .... I need to register the i lok again too

No i dont have a yellow card ! ... damn it ..

Yes you sent me the link mate ... it says i can use the yellow card or the activation code ... im hoping for the latter

You've lost me there. Once the license is on your ilok that's it. Other than installing the pace drivers (which you must already have), there's nothing more to be done with the ilok. :confused:

Ah yeah, ok. That's the same way I've done it with PT9.

Log in to your avid.com account. If you don't have one, set one up.
Your presented with three main links.
One of them is "Activate & Download Your Product".
Just bang the code in there. :)

It's a nice system because your avid account will forever store your PT auth code, codes for older versions, and download links to your software, drivers and manuals.
 
for some reason the registration code doesnt work ;( if im using the right one .. i dont think i have one ... I best contact the seller ..

I used to use Guitar rig on pt7 .... is there anyway of getting this to work on pt8 ? or is it an different version ??
 
I only have the Digi code and one near the bar code .. ending in Rev . A
 
Activation code and the code starting with DIGI are two different things. (****rev A is hardware serial number)
You'd usually get an activation code if you purchase online and don't receive any physical product.

If a physical product is received there'll usually be a yellow activation card with the bundle.

If you bought the interface and software second hand then there should have been a transfer of ownership procedure which means you and the seller would sign a form and fax/email it off to avid.

If it's 2nd hand and that didn't happen then you technically don't own the license to use the software.

Easy enough to sort out either way.

oh and yes, guitar rig should work fine. There might be a different installer for Win 7. Google that. :)
 
Ahh .. how do i go about sorting this ?

Ive found the installer i had for guitar rig 3 that i used in pt7 ... would that work you think ?
