This chick just knew what she was doing with her singing, mic placement & double tracking. I need to try out all the things she did while recording to make it sound somewhat as awesome.

That article was great Ray, I read it at work. She's a woman after my own heart. She was an awesome chick. It is very sad we never got to hear where she was headed. I like how they described her voice as having no vibrato, and that "She would sing like a keyboard". It was kind of why I chose that song to cover. I'm not big on vibrato myself, I can't even do it, so.
Hey ray, if you're still hanging around this thread... speaking of "no vibrato" - I went to see Katie Noonan and Karin Schaupp at the recital hall in Angel Place in the city a while back... they were doing the "classic Australian songs" thing, can't remember what it was called, and hearing Ms Noonan produce these amazingly long, pure, bell-like and completely unwavering tones was stunning.... truly amazing voice...

She has an amazing voice but, even with George, not the greatest selection of material. A little too reliant on her mum's rep in opera or something.
It is particularly nice to hear notes without the ulullation that seems so popular this last decade - that and the melodyne effects to create the same. The broadcasting overlords should place a caveate on all talent shows - NO WARBLING.

Hahaha no yer totally right: just a fast-typing typo. My fingers don't move as fast as my brain.
It's totally an SM7, then A or B. I don't use that mic very often as I'm particular to the RE20, so please forgive me! My brain is addled and missing many cells.
