Hello all,

ok, I now have the Echo MiaMidi card and I'm trying to use
Cubase SX

What settings do I need to make for low latency
and smooth audio

I'm having troubler especialy with audio direct monitoring

I hear some latency, not much, and sometimes it crackle

I have a strong computer (P4 2.4, 256Mb memory )
Its a new computer

please help me I'm new in this
thanx

This sounds suspiciously like a driver problem to me. In SX click on the devices drop down menu at the top of the page, scroll down to the bottom and select device set up. Now select VST multi track. The Mia should be using an Asio 2.0 driver in order to acheive the best results. Using the control button panel i would suggest that you set the buffer size as large as possible with latency value remaining under 10ms.

If you have any further problems let us know.

And WHICH driver are you using???

If the one in the box, always toss the box CD and go right to the website.....

Cubase isn't my main sequencer, but I'm currently checking out the CubaseSX demo on my daw and am having zero problems using it with my (older, non-midified) Mia card.....

I'm using the latest driver from echo's website

and I'v been using WDM driver
Asio gave me much latency .....

Maybe I'm setting it wrong ??

I'm pulling 7mS on Cubase VST32 w/ an old Mia running on a PII 350 Mhz.

So, yep. I'd say you've definitely got something configured wrong. What is the ver. of your current ASIO driver and what is the latency it's reporting to you?

It doesnt make sense theres just no way that the asio 2.0 driver wont be faster than the wdm. Try it again and adjust the settings as in my previous mail.

It is usual that the latency of your product is detailed by the manufacturer in either the manual or more usually the control panel in the software. Cubase SX shows this latency under device settings, control panel.

Cheers
