ok - here's the tale - I think it is serious - my hp 9110i cd writer ( it's a pretty new system) didn't manage to record an audio cd, altho it said it did. I did a self-run test from the tool box and it said (twice) that the ASPI was missing or corrupted. I have scoured the manual and the web site but cannot find anything on ASPI. I then had the idea of uninstalling and reinstalling, but what I did was go to system/device manager and removed the hardware from the list (a bit reckless I think with hindsight). Now - I can't add it again. There are only 3 names in the add hardware list - and hp isn't one of them. even if I choose hp from the ? list - there are only monitors listed. If I click "have Disk" - it won't acknowledge the cd rom in the other drive and I don't remember getting a floppy... I really would appreciate ANY ideas on this, as I think I might have messed up the whole thing... Cheers
