Yeah, Jimmy's nice, but I hope he's not THAT nice.
If that means what it reads that it means, you've just lost all hope of getting any further help around here.
All that meant was, I am trying out an older version of Nuendo with the intentions of registering/purchasing it, but I think Jimmys69 is right - I might go with Cubase instead, since Nuendo IS overkill (really for film scores).
I just downloaded a free trail of Cubase Elements 7, and I might buy in 30 days, then upgrade to Cubase 7
Not to mention that it is $1200 less in purchase price. I would think that alone would be a clue. As far as I know there are no older versions other than the Nuendo 6 trial and that requires purchase of something.
I really hope that you get things in order. I can't/won't help until I am sure of that.
Yes RAMI, you are correct. I am not 'THAT' nice. In fact I am a dick when it comes to shit like this-if in fact this is shit like this seems.
You are right, propman, there are some Melodyne edits that are pretty obvious, but the idea was to help my client hear a better melody then the one he layed down by adding some grace notes, and, since he was very pitchy in this song, I had to stretch some notes too far.I am on a tablet so this will be very concise. The mix(es) as a whole are quite nice but -- and I'm not sure if this has been mentioned -- why did you use Melodyne to such an obvious and (to my ears) painful degree? I think that might be a big part of why the vocals sound "harsh" and "out of place." Notes squashed that flat don't suit the genre at all. My brain wants to hear vibrato and the little idiosyncrasies that make a voice rock.
I hope this becomes a non-issue soon, because I could really use some help around here, as well as, I think that I have something to offer the forum as well.
Basically, after telling a friend that Reaper (I like that DAW) doesn't support Melodyne in real-time editing, he hands me a flash drive and tells me "try this striped-down Steinberg DAW that will support it, and if you like it, register it. I do like it, but I want to go with Cubase instead, so I am currently ready in few days to buy Cubase Elements 7 (from trial mode now), then upgrade to Cubase 7
So
1) I think you guys are being a little hard on a noob here
2) Steinberg will get my money
3) The irony here is that my friends tease me FOR buying software
4) I'm actually a pretty cool guy
