Please check out the Arena Rock song I am mixing for Client

I have been A/B-ing the beginning of the 2 versions you put up on the 1st page and apart from the distortion on the guitars that is probably coming from pushing the loudness too much I prefer the 1st mix (probably because it's louder :)). I don't like the echo/reverb on Vocal of the 2nd version, but I am only listening to the first few lines.

Overall it sounds like a competent piece of work and your clients should be happy, and I'm sure with a few tweaks you will hammer the loudness/distortion balance.

On a personal taste tangent I am finding the bass guitar hard to hear and most of what I do hear is the top end of it. I would try mixing it up and finding space for it. The solid thud you have on the bass drum is probably right for the style but I would at least try to take some boom out of it and EQ in more pedal and see it that helps the bass guitar,

Now Using Trail Version of Cubase Elements 7

If that means what it reads that it means, you've just lost all hope of getting any further help around here.

All that meant was, I am trying out an older version of Nuendo with the intentions of registering/purchasing it, but I think Jimmys69 is right - I might go with Cubase instead, since Nuendo IS overkill (really for film scores).
I just downloaded a free trail of Cubase Elements 7, and I might buy in 30 days, then upgrade to Cubase 7

Nothing like that, Mr. Clean - I'm a "Tryer and Buyer." As a matter of fact, I bought Melodyne and Trillian from Sweetwater.
For example, I was loving my trial version of Reaper (a cool DAW), but then found out it doesn't support real-time Melodyne Pitch-Correction, so I switched to a Nuendo trail because it does.
I like Cubase, and will probably purchase after a short while.
I edited the original post, so that everyone can back away from the eject button.

Not to mention that it is $1200 less in purchase price. I would think that alone would be a clue. As far as I know there are no older versions other than the Nuendo 6 trial and that requires purchase of something.

I really hope that you get things in order. I can't/won't help until I am sure of that.

Yes RAMI, you are correct. I am not 'THAT' nice. In fact I am a dick when it comes to shit like this-if in fact this is shit like this seems.

I hope this becomes a non-issue soon, because I could really use some help around here, as well as, I think that I have something to offer the forum as well.
Basically, after telling a friend that Reaper (I like that DAW) doesn't support Melodyne in real-time editing, he hands me a flash drive and tells me "try this striped-down Steinberg DAW that will support it, and if you like it, register it. I do like it, but I want to go with Cubase instead, so I am currently ready in few days to buy Cubase Elements 7 (from trial mode now), then upgrade to Cubase 7
So
1) I think you guys are being a little hard on a noob here
2) Steinberg will get my money
3) The irony here is that my friends tease me FOR buying software
4) I'm actually a pretty cool guy

I am on a tablet so this will be very concise. The mix(es) as a whole are quite nice but -- and I'm not sure if this has been mentioned -- why did you use Melodyne to such an obvious and (to my ears) painful degree? I think that might be a big part of why the vocals sound "harsh" and "out of place." Notes squashed that flat don't suit the genre at all. My brain wants to hear vibrato and the little idiosyncrasies that make a voice rock.

You are right, propman, there are some Melodyne edits that are pretty obvious, but the idea was to help my client hear a better melody then the one he layed down by adding some grace notes, and, since he was very pitchy in this song, I had to stretch some notes too far.
This is not going to be a radio ready mix, but I would still like to get the right freq boost and cuts on his vox, so that I can finish his 8 song CD demo, then get him back in the studio.

Ok, I have no problem with second chances. At least you are being honest about what you are doing and not trying to say your brother gave it to you or something ridiculous.

Post up a screen shot of Cubase Elements 7 with something in the file name that shows you now have it (Crazy Luke), and we can start over. :)

Here is the Screen Shot of the Project, Away From It All, in Cubase Elements 7. I want to redo the Rhythm Guitar DIs and the make the cpr file available.
