First off - sorry to sound so in need of spoonfeeding but it's true - I've got somewhere with Fruity Loops (unlike all other applications I've tried - I can actually USE IT!) but I've read helpfiles until they are burned onto my retina and still can't get to grips with recording anything into it.
I upgraded my soundcard from the standard Realtech onboard, to the E-MU 0404 and since then, life just seems to have become more complicated...
I've tried all of the applications which came with the 0404 but simply find them all impossible to operate. I've been using FL Studio, on and off, for about five years - and find it's the only application I can use to express myself musically. So for now, I'm sticking with it.
Now, I finally got the hang of recording just one track in Sonar (can't get it to do anything else). So I tried making a wav of the drums and bass in FL Studio, then importing it into Sonar so I could play guitar along with it but the wav in Sonar was all slowed down and I couldn't play along with it.
So I thought maybe it's better just to stick to Fruity Loops for a while longer. I need to learn how to record a track into FL Studio without it recording all the others as well.
I can't begin to ask questions right now, because there are just too many... (and to be honest, I can't put half of them into words) So what I thought was if someone could give me a run down of checks and settings and how to configure DSP Patchmix to work with Fruity Loops, I figured I might get somewhere.
(Just recently, I removed some sends in DSP Patchmix and got his terrible low frequency noise come through. Now I dont know how to get these back, so I'm stuck in this state until someone can tell me how to set up DSP Patchmix again).
Thanks
Dr. V
