now i've done it.

crap.

i just had to play the Bogner Shiva.

damn it.

damn.

now, i'll forever be compromising my tone, by not owning a bogner shiva.

damn.

Featuring two highly evolved channels, capable of clean tones that shimmer like icicles in the deep of winter moonlight and tube saturation that is so rich and powerful it should be illegal in the free world. Foot-switchable boost function for both channels, variable for channel 2.

EL34 models are 80 watts and have a nice throaty growl with aggressive English-style midrange to punch thru the mix. 6L6 models are 60 watts and have a touch more lowend/highend extension that's more American-style. The sweet/rich sounding Reverb option offers individual level controls for each channel, don't need reverb on the clean channel but need a bit on the high-gain channel, no problem dial in just the right level needed. The Shiva also has a Tube-buffered series FX-Loop. 1x12 Combo features a newly designed and revolutionary ported speaker enclosure that sounds very full, almost like a 4x12 cabinet. There is more than enough bass response to rearrange your living room furniture, if needed.

that last line, is so fuukin' accurate, it's as if i wrote it.

i played the Lonestar, the recto-verb, vox ac30, bad cat 30, and then, right before we were leaving, someone placed my guitar in my hand and plugged it into the shiva.

damn.

aw, jeez, it's ridiculous....

$2600 for the open back 2x12 combo.

but it did sound awesome.

it had so much low end, i think i found the 'brown note'.

LOL

There's a guy in Peoria who hand wires amps with every high end part you could think of and is completely resonable with price. Oh, and his tone KILLS, absolutely amazing. He built me a tube amp combiner too that doubles as a tube direct box. Just awesome. I know he'll stand behind anything on his amps too, I don't remember how long, but I remembered thinking it was impressive. If anyone is interested in getting that boutique tone, PM me for his number. This guy is a mad scientist. Sorry for the ad, but this guy has saved my ass so many times with stuff I need built or repaired. Oh, he specializes in repairing tube amps too. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Electric Amplification recommended for the real brown note. not kidding.

Good thing ya didnt try the Ecstasy. By the way...I am so very sold on Bogner amps. We've got a Metropolitan onstage and it kills every night. I'm the bass player but I do a couple of songs on each guitar rig in an evening...Bogner on one side, Carr Hammerhead on the other....Aint life grand?!!!

i wonder if a little Dr. Z mini Z combo would give me enough grind, to use it for recording?

Well I'm constantly comparing my tone to a handmade shirlock amp that a guy at my school had when I was 13. I'm now saving up $20 a week (I've spent so much on music shit I'll do this one in moderation) until I have enough I should be 20 by the time.

man music is expencive. I've spent more on my "studio" than my car

I keep playing a Mesa LoneStar special at this store near here, and am in love with it: are you telling me that this Bogner Shiva will make that Mesa seem lacking?

I'd trade my Mesa setup for a Bogner anyday. Though I would still keep my Marshall's.

Just went to listen the mp3:s at bogneramplification.
Drrooooollll.......
....sssswwwweeeeeeetttttt!!!!......
..dddrrrooollll...

it's a whole different thing.
the shiva...

in the store, playing the shiva combo with 2x12's, the clean sound-low end was so full and intense...
i've never heard that sound before, except almost:
a handwired vox AC-30, with celestion blues....
then the drive channel had this really meaty tone, like a meatier VHT pitbull, and there was a 3-d quality to it that i've only really heard a couple of times before, once from a ampeg V4 stack that was ungodly loud, and once thru a THD flex-50 that just happened to be dialed in with a legacy 2x12 cab and the THD closed back cab in tandem.

it's frustrating, to KNOW, that tones like that live out there in the real world....
but are expensive enough to cough up a kidney for.

well, I'm 31. If I start saving now I might be able to get it just before arthritis gets my fingers. They'll have to bury me in it! :D
