Hello there.

This is my first post on HomeRecording.com so 'Hello' to all.

I have a problem with my RT-909 and was wondering if anyone could advise me on what to do or what it may be.

When I place the machine in record with a signal coming through, I press the monitor to TAPE.

I then have to adjust the recording level as the left channel is a lower volume than the right. I get them matched up at '0' on the VU display, but then as I increase or decrease the volume the left goes out out of sync with the right.

The other problem I have is, when I have adjusted the volume and start recording, after about 10-15 minutes the left channel will slowly decrease in volume and go muffled, the decrease lasts about 5 minutes, then after about another 15 minutes with the left channel muffled it will pop back up in volume and treble instantly.

If anyone could let me know what this may be, as I really enjoy my RT-909.

I have heard that it may need a re-cap, if anyone in the UK knows of anyone who could do this that would be great!

Many, many thanks!
