Just had an other Behringer unit die on me.
This time it's not to bad it's their active DI ripoff of the BSS DI, cost me only $20. new and lasted me 5 years and did a ton of live show, But I have other brands of DIs that I've got that are over 25 years old and are still working like the day I purchased them.....Oh well guess behringer is just living up to their name.

$20 for a piece of road gear that lasted 5 years?
That's not bad.
I wouldn't keep cables that long.
In fact, I've just replaced all of my live gear.
Something I do every 10 years or so.

Yeah but it's the principle of the thing you would just think that you would get more out of it considering the mileage that I'm getting out of other manufactures gear.

And upon opening the DI...... Micro..... even with my good glasses it was hard to see what was what let alone trying to fix it.
Disposable, just an other bic lighter in a world of zippos.

So using this logic:

$20 lasts 5 years, so if I want it to last 25 years I need to spend $100. Sounds fair to me. Oh how much does the BSS DI cost?

Alan

I spent $500 ten years ago on a machine and console that was already 20 years old when I bought it and it's still in top form.

The machine was almost 3K and the console was around 2K.

What does that math work out to?

I'm saying that if you spend more on good gear that will last then that's a good thing, however if you don't spend much on something because you don't have much to spend and it lasts a few years then you throw it away, that is fine also.

The only thing I don't like is when you spend a lot on something that does not last long and then can't be fixed.

Cheers
Alan.

That's what I was trying to say.

"...$20. new and lasted me 5 years and did a ton of live show..."
I think the company would be happy to use that in an advert.

OMG $4 per year...33 cents a month...1 cent a day!....should have got it on lease.....lol

I wonder: If you accidentally step on it, does that void the warranty? :)
