picked up a shure 300

I just picked up a Shure 300 for $150. I was able to test it out before I bought it and it sounded okay for what it was goin through. I got it home and was fiddling with it and noticed the switch on it was turned to "voice". So I thought, well it'll sound better if I switch it to "music". There is barely any signal coming through with it switched to "music".

Think the switch it bad?

Also I opened it up and saw that the ribbon had a little bit of an S shape to it so I figure having the ribbon replaced is in the near future as well.

What do you all think?

....and by the way, after I posted here yesterday I contacted Clarence of Enak. Gonna ship it off to him ASAP.

...He said the switch is sealed and he may not be able to do anything about it but also said he will see what he can do.

I've followed many a Shure 300 on eBay. They at least look interesting, and I love ribbon mics. I'll be interested to hear a recorded sample when you get it back.
