Simultaneous tune postings. Freaky.

Nice intro. Sweet sound as always. Brilliant, my friend! packin'one...

HAHAHAHAAA...Booo boooooooo booooo boooooooo!

1:35 area is nice. NICE EBow!

Boooo Booooooooo Boooooo

I'm not done yet. Nice drums too! You're a good drummer! I wanted just a slight bit more crack. I mean of the snare.
Nice mixing of the synths with the ebow, and in general. like the trill at 2:40.

Boooooo booooooooooo boooo

Excellent once again. Makes me wish I didn't post anything today! LOL

sami,

please promise me one thing. Promise you won't get John Tesh's hair. :)

an unexpected talent from the man who once spoke these wise words: "What a difference a day makes; I still wake up in the same fucking place". :)

Exhilirating is the word. John Tesh is two ;) Not bad, though I'm no aficionado of the New Age stuff... I really prefer drums like yours in this type of music, now that I've heard it that way :) Totally dig that violin sounding patch that comes in in support of the melody.

Nice use of our friend, the ebow. How about an Ak-Ak gun to wipe out those booing bastards ? :D

Great piece, Sam. Love the syncopation in part 1... ahhh, and the mystical, ethereal e-bow work in part 2, fitting. The mix is on, like usual; I would have liked to have heard that e-bow line 'open up' here and there with the crack of a wah or crybaby... but it sounded absolutely great as it was! Nice work, man...:)

The kick on the left and the snare at the right sounds wrong to me. Not awfully bad, but a bit weird still. The actual drum sound is good. I see you got a little carried away with the church organ sound again :D I can't blame you. It usually works well, and now is no exception. I'm still not sure what e-bow exactly is. I'm dumb. I'm guessing it's that solo guitar sounding thing at that church organ bit at the end. Well, I like it. Those booo's were pretty original. I can see you like using those sound effects every now and then. Maybe they reflect the feedback you were thinking of receiving this time :D

The first half of the song has some strong ideas, but I found it difficult to grasp. That violin bit sounded a bit unnerving. Almost like some wrong notes or something. It did sound very synth-sounding violin. I like the second half a little more. This song sounds to me like it needs a bridge, though. It's like two short songs, really. Kinda reminds me of your previous song, where you had that little "other song" section in the end with a live feel.

And yet another dimension to your madness:eek: I know you asked for mix comments but I dont have any.Sounds pretty good to me like it is.The piano and organ patches sound really good and the e-bow is always a nice touch. The drums are kicking and have a strong punch also.(I dont hear any timing issues going on:eek: )

Have you ever thought of doing a whole CD of this type of music?Might be a good project....sounds a lot like soundtrack stuff......hey what are those people booing at?

Good job.....sorry I cant pick it apart.Maybe MIXMKR will tear into this one and lend you a hand:D

Now, this is different...But, what is cool is even in a classical piece, it still has your signiture with the creative changes...Nice job!

I liked the second part that came in right around 2:00 or so better than the first part. It is just deeper, I guess. Nice mix and I really dig your use of the e-bow.

Great playing and nice drumming.

Good job!

Hey Sam,

This is a really nice tune!
I really liked the piano playing and sound.
Your really getting to be a Mistro on those ivorys man!

I don't have to tell you how much I love the e-bow,you already know that!:D
I think you fit it in perfectly.

I seriously think the composing on this is great!
Tough thing to do I think, make a song interesting without the benifit of words and voices.

I can't find any fault with it at all.
Even the boo's somehow fit, they give it the samicide signature!:D

A little humor in an otherwise serious piece,I had to let my wife hear this one,we got a good laugh!
She liked it too, thought it was the radio playing.

Really fine work!

Best to you,
Pete

nice tune - i think that this song would fit perfectly into an ending of a movie. Its very cinematic, almost regal.

Well done, good to see something other than poprock on the site.

cool...

SLuiCe - that is weird.. glad to hear you say it sounded good. The first ears are always the bloodiest.. :D

participant - who's John Tesh  thanks for the feed man.. some people didn't like the violin patch, glad you did. :D

caretaker9 - I hear what your saying about the 'crack of a wah,' I opened it for a split second @ 2:33.. If you listen right there, it sounds like a whale call.. I should have done more of that. thanks for the comments!

Cranky, Cranky, Cranky One - you didn't like the violin. :D Yeah I should have panned the drums different.. I may go back and do that.. I don't know how you get your drums so punchy sounding.. I'll have to email you with some questions.. An EBow is something you hold in your hand instead of a pick, and it gives you infinite sustain.. I turn the tone knob all the way down, and use the neck pick up.. This tune was just one of those things.. Actually your right, 2 different things mashed together.. :D thanks for being frank as always!

theron - I don't know what that means? I'll just assume you hate it.. :D thanks for checkin' it out!

Kramer - that was cool! :D thanks.. I'm hoping to make a real cd.. I want to steal Steve Vai's idea and make it a double Cd, one being just instrumentals, and the other cd having vocals.. Of course I would give it away.. I have no life so I just keep recording.. The way I see it, I'll be meeting a girl soon enough, and then I won't be able to record as much, if at all.. That's why I'm trying to bang out as much as possible now.. Why the hell I bothered to tell you that I'll never know.. :D Must be the weed!

boydrj - thanks man.. dug your latest myself!

DavidK - thanks for trying.. your not missing much though.. hope your arm is feeling better....
(so you can finish our collaboration!) :D

muzemyman - I was thinking of you on this one because I know you always comment on the EBow.. :D I'm glad you and Mrs.Muze got a kick out of it.. :D I actually recorded most of those parts a while ago, but I finally just got them to sound halfway decent.. It was a fun one to mix.. thanks man...

yiordanaki - appreciate the feedback! theres a lot of good songs around here... thanks..

Wowo-You definetely got the mind of a composer-Like the opening except the high piano-I think just the lower ocatve might sound more stark...Cool pipe organ-a little loud for my taste--hmm no bass guitar? The violin line makes this sound like Jean Luc Ponty-excellent!!OMG the booo's made me laugh out loud-you're too much!! Like the plucky sound in the second part not sure what it is-great E-bow work-sheesh-maybe the best e-bow solo I've ever heard!! are you actually changing strings there at the end??Nice-thought I heard some crackle around 2:32-not sure-maybe it was the keys changing?? Excellent tune listened to it about 10 times already! Nice job as usual...

You asked for thoughts on the mix, but I can't help but listen for content first.
The jeers and catcalls...I like the way they were buried, but still not sure if they should be in there in the first place. Don't know about anyone else, but a good song is like a movie to me. It changes scenes within itself and with each listen. But the boos keep bringing me back to a concert hall; without them, I think the variety of scenes would open up.
That's the only suggestion I have. Your composing and playing are A1.
Mix sounded pretty damn good to me on comp speakers w/subwoofer.
No singing, so I can't yell at you to turn up the vox. :D

participant - your a funny dude! :D I really did know who John Tesh was, I was just bustin'.. :D

Stratomaster - you have some good ears.. The part at 2:32 you can hear the noise, If you listen to the noise that follows @ 2:33, it sounds like a whale call or something.. I didn't want to mess with that part because I didn't wan't to lose that other noise.. It sounds a bit more like a buzz rather than a crackle, but that could be my speakers sugar coating the sound.. It took many takes to nail something I could live with.. I really love the sound of the EBow.. It also makes crappy guitar players like me sound half way legit.. I couldn't find a spot for bass.. I added a bass line but couldn't get it to sit with the piano, so I took it out.. Yeah I changed strings at the end.. :D thanks a lot man.. I appreciate those ears!

mkg - I hear ya man.. I just kept having this vision in my head of someone thinking they're playing there heart out, only to be boooed off the stage at the end.. That's why it starts up beat, and ends with something more mellon collie.. Maybe I should have left them out to allow for something bigger, but it just seem to fit to me.. thanks for the feed man.. If there were vocals, they would have been mixed too low! :D

Oh What a great video that might make...animated!

Well, I liked it

To me there are two genres of music: good music and lousy music. This was good music. nice tune. I feel very relaxed having just listened to it.

The mix sounds great to me. That means hardly anything because I'm very new to this sort of thing.
