Hello everyone-
I am using the only recording techniques I can afford - micing whatever I'm recording with cheap microphones then running it through some sort of preamp/PA/mixer into my computer, where I record with the free Audacity program. I don't have a great soundcard, and I am using instrument cables to connect to the computer's microphone jack with one of those cable-adapter things that allows you to plug your instrument directly into your computer. For some reason, drums, bass, and vocals all record perfectly well into my computer but whenever I record guitars the sound degenerates into a phasing-effect sound after 10 seconds or so. I've tried everything I can think of to try to get rid of this but nothing works.
I understand why my sound quality will be poor but I do not understand the phasing. Can anybody help?
