This is all hypothetical so bear with me.
Let's say I get a compact mixer with 4 mono XLRs with mic pres and 2 stereo channels....say something like this: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MG10-2/
So I'm thinking this would be the setup -
Channel 1 XLR w/mic pre - Vocals direct
Channel 2 XLR w/mic pre - Guitar #1 cabinet (sm57)
Channel 3 XLR w/mic pre - Kick drum mic (CAD KMB412)
Channel 4 XLR w/mic pre - PZM on the wall behind the drummer
Channel 5 stereo left mono - Bass direct out
Channel 6 stereo left mono - Guitar #2 direct out
Would I run into any phase issues with the PZM possibly pickup up everything in the room, or will mixing the levels on the board keep everything in check. Would I be better off using a different single mic for doing the drums as an overhead? The jam room is treated and sounds amazing so is all this overkill for just reference recording and therefore should I just use a couple of PZMs instead?
