You're music is always fascinating, Beez, and this is no exception. Your mixes totally reflect the very defined style to which you subscribe. I'd not change a single thing ... so you got off easy w/ me.

I don't know how you're able to talk after singing though ... it's must take a week to recover.

Great work!

Totally cool tune, love your style.
Toms and kick are a bit too loud compared to the rest. Electric violin sounds great. Love the freaky vocals. Is the bass going thru a voice box? Sounds good. Great stuff!

Joey :)

Great stuff. Always really good to hear tunes that break from the norm. Yeah, kick and toms are loud. And the "die... die.... die", zombie chant thing intro would be better shorter IMO. But the whole thing gels well anyway. The violin kills.

Good stuff Beezelbubba. Very strange sound, I like it! Couple of points:

I felt the intro was too long. I'd either cut it down to even half the amount of time, or I'd start introducing more things as it goes along to keep it interesting.

The acoustic guitar sounds great, really blends in well.

As said before, the toms are too loud. Are they done in mono? Or is it just one tom? I'd pan em out more, get the rolls to swing from left to right or vica versa. They also sound very dead to me. They should ring out a little more.

Bass sounds great, good separation with the kick.

The snare was a bit buried.

Textural synthy stuff sounds great, adds a lot of depth and polish to the track, making it sound that bit more professional.

Distorted guitar sounds good, nice tone. I felt these should have been a lot bigger though. For starters I'd add some high mids/treble and get them to bite a little more. Is that just one track? It sounds very mono, I'd double track and pan hard. It'd give a lot more impact (which is essentially what going from clean to distortion is meant to achieve).

The violin is very harsh and too loud. I'd either cut some high mids out, or put a multiband on it to tame the presence where it pokes out.

Is that second solo a violin with wah? I know the violin is fretless, and that this is a debut, but I'd work on it some more. Either re-record or put it through melodyne or some other pitch correction tool. Not too much though, you'll want to keep some of that freedom in the melody. Some out-of-tunish sounding stuff works, this is a little too much unless you're going for that velvet underground thing :D

Vocals sound really good, really spacious and tamed back, it suits the song. The double track works really well, kind of schizophrenic sounding if you get me. A little panning would do wonders.

Bass break after second solo sounds good but it goes on a little long. I'd cut it down and run into another chorus and then end it.

Overall, it's a really cool tune. Very chillout. However it feels kind of repetitive, I think it needs to take off in a different direction for a bit and then return to base.

Keep it up!

The violin is screechy and bagpipey 'cause I suck!:laughings:
Lots of good advice here. I'll probly go back after a time and fix a few things... particularly the toms!:o
Thanks to all for listening.:)

Beez ... if I were to be totally honest ... after another couple listens, that opening effect goes on a bit longer than I'd probably carry it. You might want to edit to get to the meat of the matter a little sooner?

It's interesting, but not so great that it leaves the listeners not waiting ... and not waiting ... and not waiting ... for things to get going.

Just a consideration ... your call. You're the artist.

My two,

you are a radge...excellent stuff

Ive given up on mixes...my ears are so full of wax...make the intro longer...I turned it up thinking it was the track, nearly shit myself when the rest came in :)

I disagree with the comments for a shorter intro. This isn't a song that fits into a radio-ready format where the intro has to be less than 20 seconds. This song has to breathe and come into its own. I'm surprised it isn't longer.

I think the drums should be more dominant. There is an imbalance between the toms and the rest; bring the rest up to match the toms.

Are you using a wah pedal on the violin?? Cool.

The non-tom drums and rhthym guitars could come up.

I like the violin. That's a fun tone. The pitchiness really fits the song.

I wasn't a fan of the bass outro. It was kind of solo-y, which made it too high-energy to go out on. Also, the bass sounded kind of lonely by itsself.

Impressive. I'll have ot listen agian i am unfortunately on stupid ipod ear phones at the moment.

I liked how the drums and stuff gradualy made their way in.... Struck me as a Kyuss kind of production technique.

Werd.

I like it. The PF influence is apparent.

Snare is a little buried and papery.

The acoustic guitar is a nice glue. Love the violin. Can we send you a tune to play it on?

Nice work.

I'd love to, but I hope you wouldn't be looking for anything too conventional.
My only hope is to use my suckage artistically.:D
