will phantom power cause any damage to a dynamic mic?
i got a maudio dmp3 pre and an at3035 plugged into channel A. the phantom power is turned on to power the mic, but will pluggin a second mic, which would be a shure pg58 dynamic mic, into channel B cause any damage to the dynamic mic?

As long as all the mics are wired balanced, no harm will occur.....most mics of today are balanced, but there are a few exceptions.....

well, related question...

How about an SM57?? Any danger from Phantom power??

Only if your cable is broken.

That said, you should still be careful not to plug in or unplug dynamic mics while phantom power is on. (You shouldn't plug in or unplug condensers with phantom power on, either, technically.) The power-bearing pins in the XLR connector probably won't make contact at precisely the same time, which puts undue strain on the mic hardware.
