I have only recently noticed that one of my condensor mics (MXL 2003) that requires phantom power is working without the said power supply. Im not sure how it is doing it, certainly there isnt enough detail or clarity but none the less there is power getting to the capsule. Im not sure if its on my preamp or the mic, im guessing its at the mic. I have dropped it a few times but that shouldnt cause this effect surely. Anybody got any ideas? Cheers!

does your preamp

have switcheable phantom power?

maybe there's still a volatge present

when power is switched off.

yeah just got home and done a full systems check, its coming through only on one channel on the pre amp...not sure why, phantom is turned off. Must be a problem in the preamp itself because both channels are linked and its only on the second channel. It also only happens with this mic on that channel, ahh well one more thing to get fixed.. cheers!
