And my question is; which pedals are good for the money, preferably cheaper ones, but ones that are worth cashing over the dough.

IE: I have a Danelectro fab overdrive pedal. For 36 bucks it wasn't a bad buy, lacks some balls but cool.

it sort of depends on what kind of sounds you want to make! if you're after just distortion, then there's such a massive range, and everyone will suggest something different - get to a music shop and try them out. we don't have guitar center here (in Britain) but somewhere like that should/will have a number of different pedals you can try. (of course, this is assuming your amp can't provide the overdrive/distortion you require.)

if you're after more than that ... wow :) spend hours looking through the lists on shop websites - after something crazy? delay? chorus? some of the moog fooger creations?! what are your favorite guitars using? it all adds up!!

and don't assume they'll be cheap. if you're just "after a few sounds", try a multi-effect box. singles are So much more fun though :), even if less practical some times!!

Andrew.

I don't care much for the DanElectro pedals, they seem to lack range and balls. A couple of pedals worth considering are, Ibanez Tube Screamer and a Dunlop Cry Baby Wah. These two pedals will open the door to a lot of variation and not break your bank account.
