I use a desktop PC with 8gb Ram and a dual core AMD. Wondering about the latency differences between PCIe and Firewire interfaces is the difference worth it? Looking at RME Multiface and MOTU 2408. Any others?
PCIe interfaces will have better connection and faster data transfer, but many PCIe interfaces have no preamps....cuz the idea is to let you connect to your pre-amp or mixer.
An outboard firewire or usb interfaces usually come with preamps, so you dont need to spend more money....
