Anyone using paypal? I sold some songs on soundclik they get half the sale.. then the paypal says .30 a transaction... Now soundclick pays out when you get $20 in sales......My question is will paypal charge me .30 for the 20 dollar transaction? or .30 for every transaction? meaning I get .20 out of a dollar.....

I thought they take a precentage, but if they take .30, then you'd get $19.70

Paypal is nice to have and use, just warning.....if you get ripped off, dont EVER tell them a claim is settled until you know for sure it 110% is the way you ordered or bought it.

Here is what I mean:

I bought a mixer off ebay.....I paid $130.00 through Paypal,,,,it never came and never came, so I filed a claim stating "I never received item". (their insurance is supposed to cover this kind of stuff)

A claim was opened, they (paypal) contacted the e-bay seller with a warning, then a couple weeks later, I received the item UPS. It arrived badly BROKEN. (the way it arrived, and the shape it was in, my guess was, it was broke intentionally by the seller for me filing a claim). Anyway Paypal e-mailed me and asked me "Did the item arrive", and I said "Yes but it was broken".

Next thing I find out is they closed the case as "resolved"! When I called and asked what was up, they said "You can only open 1 claim per item,,,,PERIOD!!!! "It finally DID arrive, so the original claim was now closed", and I am not allowed to file a new claim for damaged goods, because only 1 claim per item is allowed. (what a loophole huh?). Then on top of it, if you buy something through Ebay and pay with Paypal, you can only make a claim through Paypal and not through Ebay.

So bottom line, I got stuck with a mixer that was broken, and there was nothing I could do about it. Its a pretty stupid Paypal rule, but its a rule they have in place, and THEY FOLLOW.

Besides this one incident, I have dealt through Paypal probably over 800 times without any problems. ;)

Peace
AJ

PayPal takes a service charge and a percentage - If I recall, it's 30 cents plus 2.75% or somewhere around there. It's really not a bad rate at that - If you're doing a dozen transactions a day, it's worth it to get a dedicated CC account. If not, PayPal is cheaper than all the service charges from accepting CC payments directly.

Yeah but since soundclick handles the transaction and pays threw paypal when your account reaches $20..... Would 20 being sent to me from soundclick be one transaction? or will it be 40 transactions? for every order

That would be a single transaction, I would assume. They batch them precisely for that reason. They don't want to have to go through the hassle of creating a transaction for every little drop of money they send any more than you want to receive that many. :D

I hope so... cuz if they did I would get .20 out of 1.00. Im used to corporations beating me, good look

I never confirmed the paypal account... And I wasnt sure how soundclick proccess there orders, I wrote both of them to find out im waiting for a response..
