I've been debating about getting the marshall v67g or the Studio Projects B1 for about a week. Well, I randomnly happened to stop at a Pawn shop Friday. It was full of over-priced cheap stuff, no decent sound equipment. As I am leaving, I look over in the corner of a shelf, and there is an dusty ole box with Marshall v67 written on it.

I worked the guy down to $75, and the thing is in great shape!

Maybe after you wipe of the dust it will read "Neumann U67".

yeah, I am always looking for something like that. Maybe one day............................

yo can get a brand new v67 for $99......you can get the v67B for $79 brand new (same mic as V67G, different color only).....

i wouldnt fool with a pawn shop unless you can get it cheaper than that....maybe $50.....

Yeah...

I got them to write on the receipt that I had until Monday afternoon to return it if it didn't work....

Well I just tested it and it's the noisiest mic I've ever heard. I didn't realize they were only 99 new...I've seen them on ebay for 125. There was also a musicians friend receipt in there for 199.99.

Guess I'll be back to return it tomorrow.

yeah i paid $189 for mine:mad:

the prices have dropped ALOT since....

as far as noisy, either

a) something is wrong with the mic

or

b) you are referring to how much it picks up....usually a first experience with a large diaphragm condenser like the v67 is very eye opening...i could hear toilets flushing 3 and 4 rooms away.....i had to work around that by turning a walk in closet into a vocal booth with alot of blankets hung up for soundproofing.....but overall, the v67 has been very good to me......

A friend of mine picked up a Neumann KMS84i from Cash Convertors. It's the vocalist version of a KM84. He paid $30 AUS... about $18 US! It was stuck in amongst all the elcheapo mikes.

He gave it to me for a birthday present! :)

I'm currently auditioning female singers to work with me in a duo.

It'll be interesting to see how it works in a live situation.

I've got a studio projects C1...trust me...this stuff was just constant static. The static was louder than the vocalist!

I plugged in different channels to make sure it was the mic, and I plugged the C1 in the same channel just to make sure.

It is true though about the first time you use a LD condensor. I'm having trouble with the drum tracks we track with being picked up through the vocalist's/instrumentalist's headphones!

I guess now you know why someone pawned it off, it was faulty. I have Marshall MXL V67G and it's a good mic.

I believe harvy posted something about how to fix that...Something about grounding and paint on the inside maybe...I dont remember...Do a search.

Thanks guys...I'm gonna have to check it out. Been thinking though, if it sounds a lot like the C1, I might get the B1 for 79 new to add a different "flavor" instead.
