Im going to be recording a voiceover project tomorrow, can anyone tell me what sort of frequencies normally need to be looked at when recording a deep male voice in terms of eq and any other mix/master tips welcome...

He can't do what his ears tell him to do until you are standing there talking into his ears. Even I figured this out.

The best way to record narration is with a large diaphragm condenser microphone, 6 to 12 inches away, in an acoustically neutral room. In my experience, EQ and compression are almost never needed.
