When mixing down in computer software, do you ever plan your pans , or do you just type in a number and play it by ear ( pun intended ) ? And what's with that 0-127 stuff . . . how does that relate to the real world ? Do you find it odd that 180 / 127 = 1.417 . . . almost the square root of 2 . . . huh!

Oh well, I got tired of trying to figure out how many degrees right from center 86 was on the digital software scale and made my own chart. This way, if I want to pan my acoustic guitars to 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock , or say 45 degrees left and 45 degrees right, I know what numbers to type in without getting out the calculator If it helps you, great, I hope it does, but if not, maybe your a better mathematician than I. My chart can be accessed at :

PanChart

Feel free to download, print, and use it.

Cool chart; I think I'll print it out and tape it to the wall. But I still don't think there's any mysterious relationship between 180 degrees and the possible decimal values of one byte other than the mapping between them for convenience.
