PA to 'puter?

Just got a pc with recording software. have a crate pa with effects out. can i patch direct from this to the pc? (input on pc is 1/8 stereo, effects line i guess is mono, as manual doesn't specify)
i also have a Fostex 4trk tape which i could use as interface. which would work better? with the pa, i can set reverb, with the recorder i'd have a dry mix. i'm only doing acoustic guitar and vocals.

If the PA has TAPE OUT .... I would use that with what ever adapters needed to get to 1/8" stereo male.
Post the Model of the Crate PA and we might be able to be more specific on routing alternatives.

Pa-4

it's a very basic PA-4, about 3 yrs old. the single effects loop is the only line out besides the speaker jacks. ss
