Pa System+extra speakers

if i had a 100 watt mixer could i hook up two 500 watt speakers. Would that blow the mixer or would it be cool

It depends on what the impedance of the speakers are, and how much load (AC resistance) the amp can handle.

The fact that your speakers are 500 and your amp is capable of supplying 100 watts are kinda beside the point in this case.
