Just bought an Otari MTR-10 yesterday and everything seems to work so far. I know the the unit calls for a CB-109 remote/ auto locator but I have a CB-119. I was wondering if I can just replace the cable to accommodate my needs. I assume the 119 is a newer unit. Does anyone have suggestions? If I can't make this work I will sell the 119 if anyone needs it let me know so we can discuss a price.

Ed,

You CAN'T just drop "Oh hey guys I got an MTR-10" ask about a remote cable and then run...

Details please...1/4" halftrack?

How do the heads look?

Congrats. Nice deck.

You have the manual?

I'm not familiar with the 119. So the 119 came with the MTR-10 or you had that sitting around already?

Looks like the CB-119 is related to the MTR-15. Do they use the same connector or...????

I see what you mean! I'll take pics and give more info latter tonight. I want to try to clean it up a little first. It sounds good and everything works except the rewind button. It will RR with the joystick and when I use the return to zero, so I just think it's the switch. I have the complete manual as well. Heads look OK but I need to look at them closer. I spent 50.00 for the deck and remote. They didn't remember having anything other then the MTR-10 so I'm not sure where the remote came from. They said if it didn't work for the 10 then I can get a few $$$ out of it to get what I need. More info latter.

OK I dusted it off a little and think it looks good enough to show. I forgot to mention before that I got the remote (the wrong one) the extender card and manual all for $50.00 I also got a Very nice wood equipment rack and add on desk top for $50.00 I also bought another MX5050-B3 with roll around cart for $30.00 and that seems to work pretty nice. Getting back to the MTR, the lights are out in the VU meters. Not sure where the bulbs are tho. Time for the pics!!!

That's tremendous. Congrat's, Ed!

The MTR-10 looks solid. Heads look pretty good, though somebody's been running sticky tape on it...

Did you find the deals on craigslist?

As a matter of fact I bought everything from the same radio station that I bought the MCI machines from. I still have more cleaning to do but it looks good so far. They do have an Ampex 300 or 350 (something like that) that's a mono track that us to be tube converted by a company and thought I'd be interested in buying, but what would I need that for? I'll post the picks of that latter.
