I am just doing some home recording as a hobby, and want at least 4 analog in at-a-time + midi.
I'm only planning on creating some MIDI drums, MIDI pads and record real guitars (1 to 3 tracks), bass guitar track, possibly vocals and my Roland D-70, if the song calls for synth or piano
What's everyone's opinions on Delta 1010LT ? (considering it's around $200, maybe cheaper used)
My PC is Dell Pentium 4 1.5Ghz with 512 RAM (XP Pro SP2). I'd like to add more RAM, if I can find it. I added a USB 2.0 PCI card, which helps in copying files to USB key or from digital camera.
I'm not in the position to upgrade this PC.
The 1010LT isn't new technology, but neither is my PC.
Other options are USB or FW, but were talking $400+
Roughly $200 for the 1010LT for 8 analog + SPDIF I/O and MIDI I/O is all I can budget.
I have a Zoom G7 with USB connectivity and have experimented recording guitar with good results. Mostly recording myself with MIDI or MP3 Backing Tracks and monitoring through the Zoom's Audio I/O to my old Yamaha 4 track (with blown display), where I have KRK Rokit 6 G2's connected to the "monitor" output.
I have a used SB Audigy 2 ZS OEM, but it's very hissy, and is OK for loading soundfonts into it's 2 X 96MB RAM, which still functions (not Audio I/O) when I connect the Zoom USB.
There is the Delta 66 ( 4A + 2D ) but they are line in's, so I'd need a pre-amp for vocals.
