Hey guys,
me and a friend (or is it my friend and I) have just finished working on a 6 track demo for our band. (which is literally right now just the 2 of us.)

It's 100% home made, and we did it trying to spend as little money as possible on it, financial woes of course.

It'd be nice if we could get a bit of feedback on what you guys think of any of the tracks, or even the demo cd as a whole.

I mixed/mastered it mostly myself, and admittedly i'm quite an amateur, so bear that in mind, but what we wanna know is "does it get the point across?"

Also, we're hoping to use this as a sort of recruiting cd to get a new drummer and guitarist, is it gonna attract interest in that regard?!?

streaming tracks
1 - Down In Flames
2 - Destiny, Bleeding
3 - A Sign Of Weakness
4 - My Only Regret

I'm not a veteran of recording or anything.. I'm pretty amateurish myself.. but I think your mixes sound very good. Sounds nice

I don't have much time at the moment so I only had time to listen to 'Down in Flames'. Everything sounds real good to me. Very professional sounding.

Sounds like it was done in a studio

I'll try to listen to the others later on. Good job.

Just listening to it through my headphones, it sounds really good, but the kick and snare need to be brought out in the mix. They seem to get buried when everything kicks in. Nice full mix otherwise.

Funny hidden part on song 6! :D

thanks for the comments guys, greatly appreciated.

i did notice the problem with the bass drum, its very weak in most of the songs, tried eqing it but it didn't help too much without sounding it sound 'off'.

I only listened to one track, but I thought the overall mix was pretty good. My only complaint is I thought there was a little too much verb on the drums, especially in the high end (cymbal crashes especially) I like a more dry earthy mix myself, but that is a matter of taste. Overall sounds pretty damn good!

Holy Cow! "A Sign of Weakness" made me think of Thin Lizzy. (Yeah, I'm dating myself)

These sound good, though I would personally use a bit more bottom end and a little less emphasis on the highs and mids.

Cool man, mix sounds good, pretty tight and punchy. My only nitpick is the drums, could use a little more power in the mix. Maybe drop some verb on them and double track them, with one track emphasizing the low end and thickening up the snare
Other than that, good to my ears. Nice clean tones on the second track too Good stuff
