Opinions: B.L.U.E. Dragonfly Mic...

wsup guys, I'm being offered one of these bad boys for a really enticing price. Is it worth getting?? I'll mainly be using it to record hip-hop and a little R&B (when I get my damn new pc to work with nuendo & my aardvark card right). I'll be using it with the M-Audio Tampa...

i love my dragonfly on a number of sources, including my own voice. however, as many here will tell you, this is a VERY finicky mic. it will NOT sound good on everything/everyone--but when it works, it works wonderfully. it's also very sensitive to placement--minor adjustments really change the tone of this mic.

i bet it'd pair up well with a Tampa. i've thought about picking up a Tampa myself--i'm currently using a Symetrix 528 for the majority of my vocals and it mates nicely too.

out of curiosity, how "attractive" is said price?

I'd definitely try it out first ... if you like how it sounds, then go for it. It's a great mic to have around.

Yeah youre right about that.. I need to find me a rapper/singer to bring along.. lol Being that I'm not actually recording myself.. ahhhh the troubles.

i bought my dragonfly for $400 new, and it's hands-down the single best "score" i've made. if that's about what you're looking at for this, then by all means get it. can't go wrong with it at that price.

Yeah I did a little while ago.. and the price is about the same you paid.. I think I'ma go for it.. shoot if it turns out its not the sound I like.. at that price I'll resell it no problem.. thanks guys!
