Hello everyone, this is my first post, I hope someone can help me in my desperate state...!

I got cubase le4 with the tascam us144 interface. Everything installed properly and I can record guitar parts but when I listen back I can only hear in the right ear (headphones as I haven't got monitors yet). It is panned to the centre but panning to the left just makes me lose all sound completely. Does anyone know what I have to do to get this to work properly. I am a complete beginner at this so treat me like an idiot!!!

Thanks. David.

Do you get any sound at all out through the left earphone through cubase?

For example - import an Mp3 or WAV file, and play it. Let me know if you get Left and Right.

I imported an mp3 file and it works perfectly.

With recorded guitars I can get a sound out of the left if I change the output routing but never both together when set to stereo out...

RE: Only hear right side when monitoring

.. you're trying to monitor a mono source in stereo. When you add a new audio track, choose mono.

That's what it is! Thanks so much for taking the time to help me. Fantastic! Cheers!
