Afternoon all,

A very quick question. I used to have a home studio with a host of expensive VSTs and I am currently moving house, having a large clear out.

My assumption was, that these instruments were linked to me and couldn't be removed meaning that all these discs and boxes that I have are borderline redundant.

Just confirming, is this the case? Has anyone had experience with this? I know that UAD accommodated transfer ownership which I did many years ago, but not sure on this stuff.

Any advice most welcomed.

Please note that this isn't a sales post.

Not really sure what you're asking. Are you just moving your studio to a new location? Are you selling/transferring your studio/contents to someone else?

Sorry Pal.

My question is, do these discs and boxes simply go in the bin now? Or traditionally, can someone else benefit from them?

"My question is, do these discs and boxes simply go in the bin now?"
>>>Only you know your archive/re-installation requirements.

"Or traditionally, can someone else benefit from them?"
>>>"Traditionally" YOU are the sole licensee and your appropriate behaviors are listed in the vendors' EULAs. As a rule of thumb, they're yours to use (with specified restrictions on an oft-specified number of your own systems) and not to give away, sell, or transfer without permission/authorization of the developer.

Well, as someone who did buy Omnisphere, Trilian and Stylus RMX boxed in my local mom & pop store some 12-13 years ago, I haven't touched them in years. At least Omnisphere is now fully downloadable, and I'm pretty sure I don't need the piece of paper that my serial number is on either as it's all registered at Spectrasonics.net. So yeah, I doubt you really need the boxes. Even if you were to transfer your licenses to someone else, they'd probably be downloading the latest versions instead of faffing about with the old DVD-ROMS.

I just purchased a number of EZDrummer and EZkeys expansions. Used they were $20 for the EZX serial #.

Used serials had to be transferred for a fee of $15 from toontrack. I split this cost with the seller when necessary.
