Ok i have the omni studio soundcard. Let me tel lyou, this thing ROCKS. however, I have a problem. the break out box and all the computer smarts stuff confuses the hell outta me. I am trying to connect my guitar to boss gt3, then to the soundcard. Where should i plug it in?? When i try to do it in the line in in the back, it either doesn't give a signal, plays it in the headphones, or doesn't play in the headphones, and records at a fairly low volume. I don't know how to record and monitor myself at the same time. Its confusin. Should i record at 96000 khz or whatever?? 32 true tape?? i dunno, i'm sorta dumb. And to record vocals, how should i connect so i can hear through the headphones plugged into the headphones part?? thanks.

Well I have an Omni studio... it is very hard to work out what is wrong here from just what u have provided. I am not sure what kind of signal level the GT3 is at but, just fromsimple deduction, I would assume that seen as it is designed to take a signal from your guitar and then put it into a guiatr amp that it has no stronger a signal than an electric guitar itself.

Therefore, I suggest you plug it into inputs 1 or 2 as both are high impedence inputs (the kind u would need to use if you were pluging an electric guitar in directly). You shoudl then open the delta control panel and play your instrument. Scroll along until you can see the meter for HW 1/2. It should show a signal. Turn the gain knowb on the Delta up until the signal is consistently in the yellow region but not as high as the red (this clips the signal causing digital distortion). you should now have and optimum recording level.

Your GT3 manual should tell u what kiond of level the output from the GT3 is. If it is at "line level" u are ok to plug it into inputs 3 or 4. However, I dont think this is the case. It may have two outps for al I know - one for guitar amp and another direct out.

As for the rest u will need to provide me with more info. What kind of signal path u have. What software. Whata re the settings in the Delta Control panel.

PS it seems obvious to but really understand the Delta Omni I suggest you read both manuals thoroughly if you haven't done so already.
