I don't know Mixcraft, so I can't help you there - sorry.
Okay, so here's how the smart money does it: set up a Buss and put a delay on it. (I use delay to add a sense of space to an instrument without pushing it back in the mix, especially when the mix is busy.) Then you can set up a Send on the original track and that allows you to dial in exactly how much of the effect you want. (You can also set the level on the buss, which allows you to tweak the final sound even more precisely. Beauty.)
When you learn how to do that, set up another buss and put a good reverb on it. (You can have any number of Sends going to any number of busses, and each one can be tweaked differently - gives you tons of control.) The reverb you apply will give you ability to push stuff back into the mix so that it's not so forward. It's okay to have both delay and verb on the same track.
Get somebody to show you how to set up busses and sends in Mixcraft - it's absolutely useful.
