I originally posted this and got alot of good advice on how to fix it. I took all the advice i got and out it to use the best that i could. So here it is a second time. Let me know how it sounds this time around. :D :guitar: View attachment I Should Have Known.mp3

The only thing that's catching my critical attention is the dryness of the drum kit vis a vis the rest of the mix. I'd set up a delay on a buss and send the different parts of the kit to it in varying amounts.

This one's sounding pretty good.

What happened to the backing vocals? How come you turned the intro way down?

i pulled out the backing vocals cause i think it sounded better without them, and would you suggest putting some reverb on the drums?

I'd start with delay. Then reach for verb if necessary.

Gonna be a weird request but can you explain a but on how to use delay with drums. I've never done it before, I've always just used verb

Weird? Delay's basic.

When you use verb, how do you set it up? Do you put a verb plugin as an insert on the track, or do you set it up on a buss and set up a Send from the track to the buss?

Ill set it right to the track itself. I have mix craft. I haven't figured out how to set up a buss

I don't know Mixcraft, so I can't help you there - sorry.

Okay, so here's how the smart money does it: set up a Buss and put a delay on it. (I use delay to add a sense of space to an instrument without pushing it back in the mix, especially when the mix is busy.) Then you can set up a Send on the original track and that allows you to dial in exactly how much of the effect you want. (You can also set the level on the buss, which allows you to tweak the final sound even more precisely. Beauty.)

When you learn how to do that, set up another buss and put a good reverb on it. (You can have any number of Sends going to any number of busses, and each one can be tweaked differently - gives you tons of control.) The reverb you apply will give you ability to push stuff back into the mix so that it's not so forward. It's okay to have both delay and verb on the same track.

Get somebody to show you how to set up busses and sends in Mixcraft - it's absolutely useful.

Figured id let ya know, i figured out how to use the buss, only difference in my DAW its a send

The snare is a bit too up front.
Mixing drums is monsterously difficult.
The bass guitar seems to be missing in this mix.
