Old Les Pauls Custom/newer babe opinions

That custom looks nice. It's kind of annoying to have that chick in all those pictures, since it forces me to scroll really quickly through the post (I'm at work). However, I've always been a sucker for a wine red 70's custom. I would buy that in a heartbeat if I had a spare 1400$... But at the same time, I wouldn't have the spare 1400$, since wine red mid 70's customs come up for sale pretty frequently.

That's good to know.

Now I just have to determine how it compares to similarly priced current models. From what I remember I enjoyed the Custom, but I haven't found any recent models that I enjoy as much.

The chick is cheesy, but I dig that blonde LP!

It's really risky to buy guitars over the net. Every guitar will have its own feel, and you never know if you'll like the one you buy. I'd imagine there's no return policy if you simply don't like the guitar.

I got a used '80 les paul custom for $1000 many years back at a music store. Maybe you should shop around locally? $1400 for an old LP Custom is an ok price, but it's not *great*, unless you know for sure that the actual guitar in question is WORTH the money to you. Know what I mean?

Yeah, you always run the risk of a possible no return policy whenever you purchase through eBay or the like.

I'm gonna have to start scouring the local shops. Kinda want the mahagony warmth. Might consider a PRS. Yet the 80's LP Custom gives such a decent price compared to the crap they're asking for new.

Also might consider an ESP Lynch Kamakaze. :D
(Honestly):)

Also, part of the reason I mentioned the auction was to point out their advertising "methods."

Not that I minded the chick. ;)

Hopefully the guitar gets cleaned before it is shipped. Messy?
=)
