I'm not sure but moorcock narrated the Warrior on the Edge of Time album.....
"And the wizard blew his horn....."
"And the wizard blew his horn....."
I was just thinking I need to archive that stuff. I made around 16 hours of recordings of the pop festival. Got The Allmans before Duane was dead ........ got some bands that ceased to exist not long afterwards. Tapes are getting pretty old now ...... I'll probably have to bake them.
yeah ...... I have tons of stuff I need to archive and it has to be done in real time plus the extra time it takes to make sure levels are right ...... dolby is right .... everything's clean .....I've pretty much reduced all my old cassettes to a half a milkcrate full after throwing away hundreds. all that's left is the weirdest of the weird, things I can't get anywhere else and stuff that I did.
keep meaning to archive it but its just hours and hours of work and I keep putting it off.
meanwhile they get stickier and stickier every year.
I just thought that it was intriguing that Morecock wrote of Hawkwind with this *machine* that they sent their music through at a live show and everyone was so pleasant then as the band stopped playing the crowd went into all out rioting making the band having to not stop playing .... What a concept!
i can see that being a short-lived experiment
yeah true, but he also reminds me of J.R. "Bob" Dobbs
One of these days, when I get around to it, I'll do a "Great Aussie Bands You May Have Missed" thread in the Cave.... all the ones I'm thinking of for this thread you probalby would never have heard of....
No dc/acthey got everything backwards and upside down in OZ.
I've had to do something similar a few times, tapes into CDs, putting CDs in order (ie listening to stuff, then putting the songs into an order that I like, then recording them etc), vinyl onto CD, then all to cassette as I'm a tape man.....all kinds of stuff. I didn't have the time either so I made use of every available spare moment. I would aim for a couple of albums a day onto a CD. More if possible. If I added up the time, then you're talking a couple of years. It seems initially like nothing's happening. The number never seems to go down. Then suddenly, one day, there's only five more to go and when it's all done, it's like giving up ciggies or when the kids leave home. Like, blimey, I don't know what to do with myself ! And I have to say, it's ever so worth it.yeah ...... I have tons of stuff I need to archive and it has to be done in real time plus the extra time it takes to make sure levels are right ...... dolby is right .... everything's clean ............ a lot of cassettes but much of mine is reel to reel. And I have Dat tapes out the butt that need it too.
Probably hundreds of hours of work and I just can't find the time.
I'm gonna regret it someday though.
I frequently get close my kanga buddies. I think their faces are really scary. But they taste delicious. It's a shame they're not native to North London !I've never got too close to one - I hear they will punch your lights out
