he sent it where?

i might be intrested in someone modding mine........

There is a guy called Stephen Sank who either worked for rca or is dad did I can't remember which but alot of people do recomend him. He does alot of beyer mod. Just google stephen sank and you'll find the web page

read up on stephen sank before you send anything to him. i haven't had any dealings with him personally, but if you read what's written about him on the forums, you may be surprised. many techs take a long time (months) to do their work as i've found in my dealing with [edit: name omitted, bad form :)], but some do amazing work in a very reasonable amount of time like michael joly of oktavamod (you might want to contact him if you're going to get any work done-- i know he does the newer oktava ribbon, but not sure about that one) and philgood here on this forum (i don't think he typically does work for hire, but he did some awesome work for me), as well as marik here.

Well I was only mentioning the one I know, I don't many you know.

I got my mic today and boy does it sound good. I never had any experience with ribon mics before but now I wouldn't buy anything else. The sound is very smooth but does need alot of gain to power it. I think i'll buy another ribbon. Does anyone know what the t.bone mic is like?

You might consider buying an Apex 205 to add to your collection. $82 at Full Compass.

Aw come on now, you'll be lusting for something else before too long. You might get tired of that big low end after a while. Especially if you track a lot of things with the same mic and let it all build up.

Now that you have a figure 8 pattern (assuming none of your other mics are), I'd highly recommend playing around with mid-side stereo recording. You can pair it up with another mic - does not have to be the same.

If you do get two similar fig. 8 ribbons, you can also do Blumlein.

I've had the Beyer M160 (Cardiod ribbon) and M130 (fig. 8) for about a year now and I love them. I'm on the hunt for another M130 for Blumlein.

Well I already have an nt1a, 2xc1000s, d112, 451 and the standard 57. It would be nice to get an omni mic but since i record in a small room it wouldn't be needed. I want to get a fig of 8 ribbon though...
