allright my ghetto recording set up is as follows


shecter diamon series guitar into
boss me30 multieffects(i use mostly the pre amping shit on it) into my mixer

out from the mixer guitar chord with a radio shack adapter so i can plug strait into my microphone input in the back

and i record and edit my shit in cool edit pro 2


but regardless of how many filters patches and what not i use

it all comes out sounding like im using my computer as an amp instead of as a recording device




any suggestions?

Run into the line-in on your computer, not the mic -in.

Mic-ins are for microphones only, and any mic-in on a stock computer soundcard is going to suck even with a mic plugged into it.
